New Delhi: Copper futures rose by Rs 5.45 to Rs 1,192.50 per kg on Friday due to higher spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery grew by Rs 5.45, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 1,192.50 per kilogram in a business turnover of 2,526 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.

Zinc futures rise on higher demand

Zinc prices rose 75 paise to Rs 325 per kg in futures trade as traders resorted to cautious buying amid a lack of fresh triggers.

Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up by 0.23 per cent in a turnover of 212 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels.

Aluminium futures fall on low bets

Aluminium prices dropped by 35 paise to Rs 311.40 per kg in the futures trade on Friday as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in spot markets. Aluminium for delivery in March fell by 0.11 per cent in 375 lots.
